Currently we have a training course Biodiversity Promotion and Awareness in Co. Leitrim open for those that would like to register.
The course is for those with a passion for and interest in the biodiversity and natural heritage in County Leitrim. It will examine the challenges impacting the biodiversity and natural heritage of Co. Leitrim (wildlife - flora and fauna, habitats ecosystems, etc.) and look at innovative ways and means to develop, publicise and promote biodiversity to and for the wider public - a draft Biodiversity Plan is currently being prepared for the county and promoting awareness and engagement is one of the actions of the plan.
The use of Design Thinking skills throughout the course will help participants to generate creative, people-focused ideas and methods of promotion/implementation. This will lead to long term benefits for biodiversity in Leitrim in its conservation and sustainability.
This Course is open to community groups/organisations and individuals. It will commence week beginning September 13th. Weekly sessions are typically 2 hours long.
Courses have been developed based on public submissions to the Challenge Bank and will teach you, along with fellow community members, the proven principles of Design Thinking to target these Challenges.
