Community Car Transport Drivers (Part Time)

Leitrim Development Company wishes to recruit part time Community Car Drivers to support the delivery of a key service for the Ukrainian refugee community living in Leitrim.

The Community Car initiative is aimed at supporting Ukrainian refugees who have been offered temporary accommodation in rural locations of County Leitrim under the ‘OfferAHome’ appeal. This initiative will offer a dedicated transport service for these individuals and will aim to transport them from their rural location to nearby towns and villages where local services or local and national transport links can be accessed.

Contract Type: This will be a fixed term contract until the 31st of December 2023. The Community Car Drivers will be required to work 17.5 hours per week with flexibility to carry out duties in the evening and at weekends where necessary. A six month probationary period will apply.

Responsible to: Social Inclusion Manager

Location: Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim

Qualifications and Experience
  • A full clean B Category Driving Licence is essential(no penalty points, accidents/claims or convictions) and must be eligible to drive in Ireland.
  • Garda Vetting will apply
  • A good geographical knowledge of Leitrim is desirable
